One of the highlights of my life happened this weekend. I was honored to fill in for one of gospel music’s most love artists, Connie Hopper. Unfortunately, Connie’s brother-in-law lost his battle with cancer this past week and Connie needed to be with her family. So not only was I grateful for the opportunity, but most honored to stand in her stead. Connie has been a great influence on my life since I was a very young child and when they mentioned the idea of me filling in for her after they learned of her brother-in-law’s illness, I wasted no time in learning their material so to be ready if they called. I truly hate that it was for this reason that I had this opportunity but nonetheless, God answered a prayer that I prayed almost 30 years ago to be able to sing with The Hoppers one day. So let this be a lesson - - don’t ever give up on your prayers. In HIS time, he will answer them, even if the answer is “No”. There’s probably “A Greater Yes”.
